There really aren’t words to adequately describe the hunting experience I just had with Rick and his son Chris! I had never hunted with a guide before, but I really did want some moose meat and I had not been able to get drawn in my home state of Montana. I told Rick that big horns might be nice, but that meat was my objective. On the third day of the eight-day hunt we found just what I wanted – a younger bull that will be tender! From day one, Rick made it clear that my success was his utmost concern. The huge smile on his face when that moose went down was worth the trip! Rick’s knowledge of moose, bear, wolves, and the terrain was amazing. I learned so much. The talk around the kitchen table was lots of fun – we all shared hunting stories and learned from each other. Besides the talk – the food was great, down-home country good!) For this hunt, I was the only hunter at the campsite (last hunter of the season). Besides Rick and his son, he also had three of his grandsons who were a source of great entertainment! I saw game every day I was there, including a sow grizzly and her two cubs. The bears ended up with the gut pile!
