Our Alberta moose hunting area WMU 524 (classed as a trophy zone) is located in the famous Peace River country in northwestern Alberta, Canada. This area is in prime moose habitat which has been producing trophy class antlers for years. During the past season we have taken several bull moose in the high 50s to low 60s. Again last season we provided excellent opportunities keeping our success as one of the best available. Our Alberta moose hunts take place in logged blocks, natural salt licks, lakes and cut-lines. We use pickups or quads to transport you into prime hunting areas where you will hunt on foot. All terrain vehicles are used only for transporting game back to our vehicles.
Alberta moose hunting during the rut is extremely exciting as we often call the bulls in close. Countless times I have called in an unwary bull moose to within 30 yard of my hunter. My guides are masters at this type of moose hunting.
The best moose hunts are during the rut season and in November when the bulls are yarding up in groups of males in feeding areas. November offers many of the larger bulls with snow for tracking into the hot spots. This is one of the best hunts available during the entire fall moose hunting season. Archery moose hunters should plan their hunt as early as possible to make best use of the natural springs and natural salt licks. These areas are absolutely some of the best archery moose hunting areas in Alberta. Opening day, August 25, is among the best times for archery moose hunts.
